在云南之外的中国，动物园是唯一能够看到亚洲象的地方。1950年代的武汉，在动物园尚未驯养大象时，东湖边的一座白象雕塑成为了当地人想象大象的辅助，也因此成为之后数十年间著名的留影地点。跨越了不同的历史语境，这一亚洲象的形象如何成为持续黏附人们的目光的装置？基于近百张跨越30余年的东湖白象的留影，程新皓试图用AI重构另一种想象。

Outside of Yunnan, zoos are the only place in China where Asian elephants can be seen, and in Wuhan in the 1950s, before they were domesticated in zoos, a sculpture of a white elephant on the East Lake bank became an aid to imagining elephants for the locals, and thus a famous photographic site for decades to come. Across different historical contexts, how has this Asian elephant sculpture become an apparatus that continues to attract people's attention? Based on nearly 100 photos of the white elephant of East Lake spanning more than 30 years, Cheng Xinhao attempts to reconstruct another kind of imagination with AI.
